Tree Trimming in Houston, TX
Trimming is one of the best investments you can make in your trees. Done correctly, it removes dead and hazardous wood, opens the canopy to airflow and light, reduces storm risk, and extends the life of the tree. Done incorrectly, it weakens the tree, invites disease, and ruins its shape. EZ Tree Service has been pruning Houston oaks, pecans, magnolias, and pines for over 30 years using accepted arboricultural standards.
What's Included
What our tree trimming service covers
Crown cleaning and deadwooding
We remove dead, dying, diseased, crossing, and weakly attached branches throughout the canopy.
Crown thinning
Selective removal of live branches to reduce density. Improves light, air movement, and storm resistance without changing the tree's natural shape.
Crown raising
Raising the lower branches for clearance over walkways, driveways, vehicles, signage, and rooflines.
Crown reduction
Carefully reducing the height or spread of a tree using proper reduction cuts, not topping. Used when a tree has outgrown its space.
Hazard pruning
Removing limbs that threaten a roof, power line, fence, pool, or driveway after a storm or a routine inspection.
When you need this service
Signs it is time to call
Mature trees benefit from a trim every 2 to 3 years. Younger trees often need shaping more frequently to develop strong structure. Branches overhanging your roof should be cleared back at least a few feet to prevent rubbing, leaf buildup in gutters, and easy access for rodents. Before hurricane season, every large tree near your home is worth inspecting. If you are seeing crossing branches, low limbs over the driveway, deadwood in the canopy, or branches touching power lines, it is time to trim.
Our equipment
Built for Houston jobs
Bucket truck for reach work, climbers for tight canopies, pole saws and pole pruners for the highest limbs, chip truck and grapple truck to remove all debris in a single trip.
Our Process
How the job runs
1. Free estimate and pruning plan
We walk the property, talk through your goals, and write up which trees get which work. We never quote a tree we have not seen.
2. Climber inspection
Before the saw runs, our climber walks the canopy to identify weak unions, hidden deadwood, and any active hazards.
3. Proper cuts
Every cut is made at the branch collar, sized to ANSI A300 standards. No flush cuts, no topping, no stubs.
4. Cleanup
Brush goes into the chipper, chips and logs into the dump trailer. We blow the driveway and rake the lawn.
